SUPP President to Stay On to Lead
Despite a motion by Engkilili branch asking the Party President to step down step as promised in 2006, the top leaders pledged unanimous support for him to defend the president's post.
Senator Datuk Sim Kheng Hui said that we want him to continue heading SUPP and we will forward this decision to the Triennial Delegates Conference. The CWC has the right to make such a recommendation and we feel that the focus should be rejuvenating the party instead of on the person who is to lead. We would explain the matter to the delegates, hoping that they would understand and accept the decision during the two days conference.
SUPP will hold its Trennial DelegatesConference on 13th & 14th December 2008 at SUPP Headquarter.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will be opening the Conference.

Action please, Chong!
SUPP Party Vice President Lily Yong, too, yesterday expressed her extreme dismay at DAP Sarawak Secretary, Chong Chieng Jen as well as an MP for Bandar Kuching Parliament over his remark of saying SUPP should close down by failing to pay up the settlement of RM3million to Global Upline Sdn Bhd for the completion of SJK Chung Hua No 2.
She said, "SUPP has been there for 49 years old and I admit that we have our weaknesses in this matter but at least we are trying out best to make the school relocation project a reality, and we are still working hard on it. Although we are still not happy with some of the policies and system, we have make efforts for a change and whas has Chong done? He should not grab such opportunity by using the sentiment of the people to ask us to close down."
She pointed out that the party had had enough of his "cheap publicity" by using his lips service by hitting out on SUPP on several issues as a way to gain his political mileage.
Chong should stop creating issues, he should play a role to help to raise funds to meet the cost of the school project since he is an MP and YB as well as a member of the school's board of management.
